Alicia Xie
Co-President
Hi! I’m Alicia, a senior entering my 7th year of Science Olympiad. I’ve competed in a wide range of events, but my favorites tend to be biology related. I have been to Nationals 5 times, with my favorite being the 2024 competition in Michigan. Outside of MVSO, I love to watch old movies and go on day trips with my friends.
Pragya Rama
Co-President
Pragya is a senior who’s excited to head into her eight and final year of Science Olympiad this year. She’s studied primarily binder and theory events, with her favorite event being Fossils because of her love for earth science. When she’s not studying her events, she can be found fixated on killer sudoku while blasting to music in her earphones.
Takuji Kubota
Co-President
Takuji Kubota is a senior who is heading into his 5th year in Science Olympiad. He primarily enjoys device events, being a national champion in Tower. However, he also does a lot of written and lab events, winning national medals in Codebusters, Ecology, Experimental Design, and Sounds of Music as well. His hobbies include creating 3D sculptures, solving puzzles, and collecting mechanical pencils.
Elaina Pan
VP of Marketing
Hi, I’m Elaina, a junior at Monta Vista, and this is my 5th year in Science Olympiad. Previously, I’ve placed 1st at Nationals in Materials Science, Optics, Codebusters, and Write It Do It. Outside of Science Olympiad, you can find me making scrapbook cards or listening to Dominic Fike.
Harvey Lei
VP of Competitions
Harvey Lei is a junior in Science Olympiad who gets carried by his event partners. Favorite events include Dynamic Planet, Materials Science, and Bungee Drop (which I do not do). Looks forward to nationals when eyes are open.
Mahathi Rajkumar
VP of Operations
Hi, I’m Mahathi Rajkumar, and I’m excited to be your VP of Operations next year! I have done Science Olympiad for five years, and have competed nationally in both Division B and Division C. Specifically, I’ve competed in Disease Detectives, Anatomy and Physiology, and Chem Lab. In my free time, I love to visiting the beach and listening to music!

Hi! I am Nimal and am currently a junior at Monta Vista! My favorite event is Astro, but I also love doing other events, such as forensics. I enjoy playing video games if I get free time.
Rehan Babu

Hello, I’m Rehan! After five years of Science Olympiad, a strong love of learning has best helped me for success. Other than Astronomy, Disease Detectives, and Codebusters, I really enjoy spending a lot of time solving and writing linguistics puzzles (and I’d love to talk with you about them :)! I look forward to helping you with your events and learning journey this year.
Samarth Kashyap

Hi, I’m Samarth! I am a junior at Monta Vista and starting my 6th year of Science Olympiad. Some of my favorite events include Ping Pong Parachute and Tower.
Joel Lee

Joel is a junior entering his sixth year in Science Olympiad, and Entomology is his favorite event. Outside of academics, he likes to spend his free time playing video games and listening to music.
Anirud Sainarayanan

My name is Anirud Sainarayanan, and this is my 3rd year in MV Scioly. Some of of my favorite events include Electric Vehicle, Tower and Ecology (now Water Quality). In his free time, I like to spend time with friends and play basketball.
Anish Vuppala

Anish is a junior at Monta Vista High School going into his fifth year in Science Olympiad. He has competed in a range of events such as Circuit Lab, Experimental Design, Can’t Judge a Powder, and Fermi. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports and playing video games.
Vibha Raghvendran

Vibha is a junior who has been involved in Science Olympiad for over five years. She’s competed in events such as Meteorology and Geologic Mapping, and her favorite event is Astronomy. She’s earned multiple regional medals and a national award. She also enjoys reading, drawing, and playing badminton with her friends and family in her free time.
Melinda Zhao

Hi, I’m Melinda, and I’ve been doing Science Olympiad for 2 years. My favorite event is Entomology. Outside of SciOly, I enjoy running and drawing.
Owen Liu

Owen is a junior going into his 4th year in Science Olympiad. He likes listening to music on his beats and trying out new foods.
Kunal Bhatia

Kunal is a sophomore heading into his third year of Science Olympiad. He has competed in a range of events, including device, lab, and binder events, with entomology being his favorite. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and listening to music.

Hi, I’m Ella, and I’m a junior in my fifth year of competing in Science Olympiad. I’ve participated in a variety of events, with Experimental Design being my favorite. In my free time, I enjoy playing strategy-based board games with my friends!
